BOOK STUDY
The Teachings of the Buddha
As expressed through the transcribed Dhamma talks of
Ajahn Chah and his student Ajahn Sumedho of the Thai Forest Tradition
Food For the Heart: The Collected Teachings of Ajahn Chah
And supplemented by
Don't Take Your Life Personally by Ajahn Sumedho
The Buddha did not teach a religion; he taught an enlightened way of living. He recognized suffering and stress, saw the cause of suffering and stress, revealed the cure of suffering and stress and provided the means to become free of suffering and stress. These are The Four Noble Truths.
This book study is not an excursion through the Pali Texts or the complexities of formal Buddhist instruction. It is a focus on the central points of teaching that both these remarkable teachers continuously pressed upon their students:
"Everything is unsure" Ajahn Chah
"Awakened awareness knows the way things are" Ajahn Sumedho
The group is limited to 5 people and will take place in an outdoor setting.
Book Study: Fridays 10 a.m - 11:30
Meditation on awakened awareness: Sundays 4:00 p.m.
There is no charge for attendance; you need only contribute your earnestness and effort.
