Amigos de Animales Boquete

On Sunday March 14, Amigos de Animales spayed or neutered 103 animals, 47 dogs and 56 cats, with two vets working.

On Sunday March 28, we sterilized 106 animals, 39 dogs and 67 cats with two vets working.

On Sunday April 25, we spayed or neutered 118 animals, 53 dogs and 65 cats with two vets working.

Below is our Year to Date information. Thank you Andy!

Since it all began in 2005, Amigos de Animales has sterilized 19,300 animals. That is an amazing number and an amazing contribution to the health and welfare of the Boquete community. Thank you to everyone who has made that possible over the years, our tireless vets, our hardworking volunteers, our generous donors, those who contribute their time and efforts, and those who prepare and provide food for us at the clinics.

Below are just a couple of those who help us behind the scenes.

This is Heidi and Mike of Mike's Global Grill. Every clinic without fail, these generous supporters donate five pizzas to our clinics. Thank you Heidi and Mike!

And more wonderful volunteers! This is Larry White picking up a truckload of dog and cat food to be distributed throughout the community. Thank you Larry!

On March 18, Animales gave a Community Chat at the Library about Caring for your Pet in Panama. This talk included handouts about dangerous and toxic critters that your dog or cat might get into and how to access to situation and provide first aid when needed. We also have a First Aid Kit for sale for $20 that has things you might need in case of an emergency. Please contact Alicia (akcleavenger@hotmail.com ) if you are interested in one of these kits.

On April 7, Amigos de Animales held its Annual Meeting at our clinic. We discussed upcoming events and the status of our clinics. The Annual Report is posted on our web page. We also gave our presentation Caring for Your Pet in Panama and Dr Rod Gottula talked about medical cannabis for animals.

VAN UPDATE

Great News! We have completed the purchase of our Mobile Clinic van, thanks to our generous donors, we have been able to purchase a 2020 Ford Transit van that will be perfect for our needs. And thanks to Kat McKay and Alan Nilsen, we now have the means to outfit the van as needed for us to perform surgeries and other medical operations in remote towns and fincas. We saw a need, we raised the money, and now here it is. Thank you, Boquete! And thank you Luis at Ford in David and Oscar Hernandez for helping us find the right vehicle.

And you can help us design a wrap for the van – win $100!
