[News Boquete] AirOasis Air Purifier OR De-humidifier?

Which Machine Should you Buy?
Here in Boquete, it is now the rainy season and conditions are perfect for the growth of mold and mildew in our homes. We have the right temperature and humidity to make mold and mildew grow prolifically!
What investment should you make to combat this problem.
Let's compare the AirOasis Air Purifier and a De-humidifier

AIR OASIS AIR PURIFIER
  • Kills mold and mildew spores in the air- zaps them completely
  • Purifies and sanitizes both air and surfaces
  • Improves air quality by reducing bacteria, viruses, odors, pollen
  • No maintenance required
  • Quiet...no white noise
  • Low energy consumption
  • If the power goes out....the 2 larger models turn back on automatically
De-HUMIDIFIER
  • Does not kill mold and mildew spores in the air
  • Does not sanitize or purify both air and surfaces
  • Does "dry" the air to HELP abate the growth of mold and mildew
  • Needs to be constantly maintained by cleaning the filter and emptying the water
  • Makes tons of noise
  • Is not energy efficient
  • If the power goes out...you must restart the machine
Please visit me at the Tuesday Morning Market from 9 to 11:30 in the Hex-Room.
Or email me at info@airoasispanama.com or call me Stacey Singer 6866-9399 for more information and pricing

Re: [News Boquete] BookMark, End times.

As many of you know, the BookMark is moving to it's new location, which is right next door (literally) to our old location. Tomorrow is our last day there and if anyone wants to lend a helping hand, the more the merrier. No pressure.

Also, if you're coming past the bookstore (from either direction), we could use boxes, as many as possible. And another wheelbarrow to move books.

Again, thanks everyone.

Almost forgot to mention, I've discovered that the store's furniture wont fit next door, so, most of it is up for sale. Come by and check it out.

Lastly, a few quick notes, can someone send a message to whomever is in charge of the library to write me, or give me her email. I have a large number of school text books (many are obviously dated), but, might be worthwhile to look at. And/or, anyone interested in that sort of stuff for homeschooling, donations to outlying schools, etc, because, due to spacing constraints, I'm sadly going to be tossing those books in the garbage at the end of the day tomorrow.

Cheers,

Michael

[News Boquete] 2 Guys & A Cooler with a sneak peek

2 Guys & A Cooler

Great day to everyone!! We have been asked recently to post a sneak peak menu for those of you who might not be familiar with our service.  I know that there are some new faces in town and we would like to extend a great big WELCOME HOME.  If this isn't your home yet just stay a little longer.  You'll fall in love with Boquete.

We are often asked, "What do you Guys do?"  Well here it is.  We are a family run business that specializes in preparing freezer meals that are not your ordinary TV Dinners...  We use top shelf ingredients to make a high quality product that generally will feed 2 adults.  Our menu is ever changing so you'll never get tired of eating the same old boring dish!!  We have a huge selection of entree's, desserts, breads, snacks, and more..  Some stuff you'll love!!  Some stuff you'll find weird!!  Some stuff you might only ever order once!! Just like mama's cooking!!  Our goal is to be convenient, easy, affordable, and delicious.  For about $4 bucks, a person can enjoy meals that will shoot them right back to home.  Comfort food, soul food, Mexican, Thai, Italian, French, Chinese, and so much more.  We spend an incredible amount of time researching different cooking styles and experimenting with different recipes so that we can constantly bring to you a fresh, new, and innovative product.

We offer convenient pick up before the market, we offer pick up at the market, and we offer delivery service as well.

Our business has evolved and we are very excited to say that we are entering the 3 year mark of serving Boquete..,

If you happen to be at the BCP on Tuesday morning come by the booth and say hi...  Try our fresh baked Huge Buttermilk Biscuits that are delicious and flakey topped with our very own breakfast sausage and southern pepper gravy.

Every week we send out our menu to our valued members.  If you would like to receive our weekly menu with specials and updates please reply to this message and just let me know that you want to be added...

June 2: To Chile and Back

Jim and Kate Bondoux, expats in Boquete since 2010, chose to experiment with an alternative residency in the thriving country of Chile.

In 2014 they packed up and moved to Santiago, drawn to that capital city's bright lights. They were gratified to find many of the amenities they had expected, but also discovered a couple of missing ingredients which proved to be, for them at least, fatal flaws. These flaws show the contrast of living in Boquete to many other alternatives.

Jim and Kate are in the process of re-establishing themselves in Boquete. Jim will recount their experience and share their key findings from the experiment.

June 9: Dr Karen Zapata, Dermatologist will discuss the effects of our intense sun and risks for skin cancer.

June 16: Jeffery Dietrich The presentation will be on the ecology of the cloud forest highlighting the flora and fauna

June 23: Subject: What to do When the Lights go Out.

A complete over view of all forms of alternative energy from candles to the new tesla system.  Pros and cons of candles, oil lamps, UPS system, generators, grid tied batteries, solar, hydro, wind.
Basic cost of doing different systems.
An understanding of all the parts of each system and what they do.
Discussion of batteries from lead acid to tesla's lithium battery.
Learn the basics of understanding electricity – watts, amps, volts, ohms – delivered in a simple and easy to understand way.
Learn how to size a system for your needs.
How to reduce power usage.
What is required to manage each system.
Where to get everything.

All attendees will receive a link to the notes and a spreadsheet calculator for sizing a solar/hydro system.

Chris McCall was the designer of the solar hydro systems at rancho de caldera a 70 panel system with 4 hydro generators.  He also designed systems for Jerry Hedrick and Lorraine Handler.  Chris no longer does consulting and is not promoting any products/services with this talk, it is purely for information.

June 30: Miguel Chang will try to answer all the question discussed on BoqueteNing about his condo project on the Highway near the Cefati Building.
