I wanted to make sure and get this email our ASAP. A few weeks ago, we gave away over 50 sourdough starters for free. Many of you were asking for instructions and rather than write it down I thought it would be easier to simply make a video on how to make sour dough. This free video class in only 15 minutes long and covers 3 different styles on making sourdough and I'm sure that you will be able to find at least one that works for you. Also, in the video I reveal tips and tricks on how to get the maximum flavor and tanginess out of your sourdough loaf. I won't lie, it does take a bit of planning and it is a bit involved but the end result is something so wonderful and delicious you will really enjoy the process. In addition to producing that video we were also busy making a Turducken. This was absolutely wild and a very cool project. I don't believe we will be offering Turducken here in Boquete anytime soon but if you want to see how one is made check out the video we made. If you are unfamiliar with a turducken it is a chicken stuffed inside a duck which is stuffed inside a turkey (all deboned). Finally, we have had many requests to make a video on "How to fry a Turkey" so we did that as well (a few weeks ago). Unlike most (who fry turkeys outside) we fried ours in our kitchen. The end result was juicy, delicious, crispy skin, turkey. Unfortunately, Fried Turkey is not very economical to make but it was sure fun to eat!!! The Market at the BCP will be closed on Dec 25th and Jan 1st. Even though there will be no market on those days we will still be offering our menu for pick ups and deliveries. So basically, nothing changes for us for those 2 weeks as far as pick ups and deliveries are concerned.
This week we made a wonderful assortment of goodies. We made Cajun Chicken and Andouille Sausage Gumbo, Cajun Potato Salad, Baked Ziti, Gnocchi Bolognese, and finally we made Saag Paneer. This is in addition to the already huge menu that we currently have. On our menu we have everything from Southern Classics to Thai Spicy dishes. We have Italian and Mexican. There's a touch of Russian, Irish, Chinese, Greek, Indian, and a whole lot more!! Our fermented menu is continuing to expand as well. You can find wonderful and delicious flavors of Sauerkraut and Kim Chi as well as other ferments at our booth on Tuesdays in the BCP. We will be releasing our new salami line soon as our charcuterie projects continue to take shape. To place an order simply complete the online ordering process and make sure you submit the order when complete. (this is the step most commonly missed) You will get an order number immediately after completing your order. I make all deliveries on Monday between 2 and 5 and if you are picking up at our location please come by Monday between 2 and 5 as well. Tuesday we are at the BCP between 9 and noon and if you chose to pick up there, we are located in the end of the theater hallway by the rear exit.
