[News Boquete] Any Old Time, Irish, or Bluegrass String Band Players Out There?

I'd like to check out the possibility of starting up a weekly Old Time jam session - emphasis on Practicing, not on Performing, for anyone who plays acoustic string instruments such as fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, or base.  If you want to play melody, you would need to know some Old Time Songs, however if you can play basic chords, I have a big collection of chord charts, making prior knowledge of the songs unnecessary.  If you are unsure what Old Time music is - think Barn Dance.  It is traditional American music with roots in Ireland and Scotland, taking hold in the Appalachians way back when.

Sorry my links to youtube are not working in AOL mail,  but if you want a sample, search on  Wayfarers Angeline the Baker and that will get you in the ballpark.

If interested or want more information, please contact Pat Thomas at patmurph00@aol.com
