Baru Watchers is an organization of local residents, who are curious and concerned about
past and future activity of Volcan Baru. and also want to explore the interesting and unique
geology of the Chiriqui region. We believe that direct outdoor experience in small groups
is the best way to learn and enjoy geology. Four Boquete Area field trips are scheduled for
Jan 5 and 24 (already full) , Feb. 10, and Mar 4. Sign up early to secure your reservation.

Different field trips, not yet scheduled, may visit other geologically important sites in the
region including Volcan and Caldera. (Are YOU interested?)
Many former field trip participants have requested an introductory geology class emphasizing
the unique geology of this region. This course would comprise 4 2-hour weekly classes.
A fee would be collected to pay the cost of instructional aids and materials. If there is sufficient interest
in this course, we will proceed to the selection of a venue and course schedule. Future activities of
Baru Watchers rely on your suggestions and participation.
