CLINIC REPORT – November

On Saturday, November 7, Amigos de Animales spayed or neutered 82 animals, 29 dogs and 58 cats, with three vets working.

On Sunday November 15, we spayed or neutered 102 animals, 47 dogs and 55 cats with two vets working. We were able to make this clinic a free clinic to all who came thanks to a grant from the Summerlee Foundation and Judy Sacco who secured the grant.

On Saturday November 21, we sterilized 150 animals, 82 dogs and 68 cats with three vets working.

We were very busy in November and will now take a break for the holidays.

Thanks to our super-volunteers Andy Mitchell and Karen Salacki, you can see a snapshot of this last clinic on November 21.

Totals

Our total this year is not nearly what is had been in past years but at least we were able to get MINSA approval to start up again in a small way. Our total of 1238 for 2020 is nowhere near the over 2000 animals in 2019 and the lowest since 2014! We are anticipating that 2021 will be a very busy year for us and are hopeful that we will be able to get going again with more vets and more volunteers.

THANKS TO ALL

This has been a long and crazy year, but as we approach the end of it, we have much to be thankful for: our vets, volunteers, and donors—everyone who helps the clinics run smoothly.

We thank our donors, the volunteers who give us their time and energy, the tireless vets. More specifically, we thank those who help us set up in the morning and clean up in the afternoon.  We thank the local businesses who give so generously, as well as individual donors of food, supplies, money, and time. We appreciate those who take the registrations and check everyone in and provide transport.  For those who work in the kitchen and cook and clean for us all, we are grateful, as we are for those who whisper to the cats and comfort the dogs, give injections, shave and tattoo; those who work with the vets, do the taxiing, clean the instruments, sterilize the body wraps, sterilize the equipment and manage the laundry; those who recover the animals and ensure that their guardians have the information needed to help their animals after surgery. We love those who feed and trap and bring in stray animals.   And there are, of course, the vets, without whom none of this would be possible!

We thank you all!

ANIMALES CALENDAR FOR 2021

Our 2021 calendar is out and selling fast. Please help support Animales by purchasing our calendar and also by supporting the businesses who always support the animals.

MOBILE VAN

After this year, we know that the need for our services is greater than ever and that one way we can help more animals in the community is by having a mobile van to take us to those who cannot get to us. To help us raise the needed funds, we have created a GoFundMe campaign. Your help, in any amount, can help us attain this goal! Please visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/g8x7zw to donate today!

Please help us with our campaign to purchase this – we are making great progress towards our goal!

DONATIONS OF FOOD FOR THE ANIMALS

This year Animales has donated over 16,000 pounds of cat and dog food to families in need. Now in the spirit of the holidays, we will again be taking food to families in need. If you would like to help us in this endeavor by donating pet food or money to purchase the food, please contact me, Alicia, at akcleavenger@hotmail.com.
