[News Boquete] Mexican Food is back along with a unique cheese and lots more!!

Is it Saturday already?  Wow the weeks sure tend to fly by.  If you are new to Boquete or are unfamiliar with our service we are a frozen meal business that's been serving the Boquete and Highland communities for almost 10 years.  Join our weekly mailer by clicking here:  Click here to get on my mailing list!!

This week we are whipping up some serious options for you to enjoy.  We have lots of Mexican Food this week!!  For starters we have Deconstructed Chile relleno back on the menu as well as out Turkey Taco Lasagna.  We also have Smoked Chicken Mexican Burritos and more to come.  What is a deconstructed Chili Relleno you might ask?  Well, it's our way of taking an impossible dish to freeze and turning it into an incredible freezer meal. 

Thin Crust Pepperoni Pizzas are back on the menu this week as well as our Spinach & Artichoke Dip.  Don't be limited by the name this dip also makes a great stuffing for chicken, an awesome topping for a baked potato, or a creamy topping for pasta, rice, or vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower.

We've added a couple new items this week to our menu as well.  We have authentic Panamanian cheese and ham empanadas.  These empanadas are stuffed with cremoso cheese (a local favorites amongst chefs) and smoked ham.  We decided to sell them uncooked in bags of 5, so all you have to do is fry one or all of them up whenever you plan on cooking.  These can be fried from frozen and only take 5-7 minutes to cook.  A perfect quick local food that really delivers in the flavor department.

We've also made a small batch of Pork Aspic (AKA Hog Head Cheese).  I know it sounds crazy but this savory pork appetizer is scrumptious.  Select cuts of pork are slow cooked in a flavorful vegetable broth till they are fall apart tender.  Once finished the collagen rich broth is clarified and added back to the pork meat.  The end result is a meaty and herby snack that can be eaten cold or served over hot foods.  Each portion is precut and weighs just over a half pound..

To place an order simply complete the online ordering process and make sure you submit the order when complete. (this is the step most commonly missed)  You will get an order number immediately after completing your order.  Deliveries will be made on Monday between 9am and 3pm and if you plan on picking up your order please come between 11am and 2pm on Monday. If you are picking up at our location please be sure to select the time that you wish you pick up.  This helps us have your order ready.

[News Boquete] Follow up for vaccine registration is required

Phase 2 of vaccination, which includes adults over 60 years of age, will begin next Thursday, March 4.

This link has been updated to allow those people who do not have cedulas to sign up. You will see these three options, choose the one best suits your current stay in Panama. Make sure you fill out the documents as accurately as possible. You must have your legal identification document with you when you go get your vaccine. If you do not have a cedula this would most likely be your passport and your pensionado card.

Once you are registered and the National Government announces that they are in the circuit in which you reside, you must go to this other link:

vacunas.panamasolidario.gob.pa/verificate

and verify you to know the date, time and the vaccination center that corresponds to you.

Boquete, Dolega, and Gualaca are in circuit 4-5.

The next General Meeting We are Here for You Tree of Life Our Mission The Gift of Life Blood Drive March 6 We are thrilled that 60 people have signed up to donate blood on March 6.  Thanks to all these folks who are Giving the Gift of Life with their precious blood. Anyone living in the Boquete Health and Hospice service area is eligible to receive blood.  Also, the family members of those who donate blood are also eligible even if they don't live in our service area but, if they are in one of the David hospitals.  Blood can be made available in a very short time after the request is made on our Blood Help Line (6590-2000).  No longer is there a need to beg family and friends to drive to David to donate blood. People are also still signing up for the Matching Fund drive.  This program allows a person who cannot donate blood to still help by agreeing to donate a specific amount (their choice) for each pint of blood donated.  This helps cover the expenses of holding the blood drive, which in turn allows those from our community that need blood to get it quickly.  Please consider this option for Giving the Gift of Life! Donate to The Gift of Life Fund The Purple Cloud.......... ,,,,,,,rolled into the wonderful Biblioteca de Boquete for the BCP Community Chat on Feb. 18.  This was the first time the new and simplified format for Being Prepared in Boquete for Life and Death, was presented.  It's been over a year since BHH has been able to have any presentation regarding Being Prepared.  The 'masked' audience was so receptive, and words like "excellent" were mixed with applause and many thanks of appreciation to presenters Char Lintz and Joanie Feuerstein. Personal stories and real-life experiences from Boquete were surely motivational in emphasizing the necessity of making an action plan using the reader-friendly guide and in accordance with Panamanian law.  Explaining some distinct differences between Panama and ex-pats' passport countries, enlightened most participants. What could I possibly do to be a part of the Volunteers for Boquete Health and Hospice? With a ride to the Doctors, an assist to the grocery store, a telephone call because someone is lonely, a friendly visit, a meal dropped off at their door, a "Thinking of You" little gift basket appearing?
