[Noticias] Upcoming Culinary Events

This Friday, February 4 - 5:00pm - "Cooking Southern-Mexican Style" presented by leisure chefs, Sharon and Dave Langham.  If you like "south of the border" cooking, you won't want to miss this opportunity to learn how to prepare authentic southern Mexican foods, including Tapatia Sangrita, Jalapeno Poppers, Green Mole', Oaxacan Grilled Fish, and more.   This is not typical Tex-Mex cooking.  Class will be held in the Kent kitchen, El Santuario, Boquete.  $25 fee includes hands-on class, recipe booklet, full-course dinner, a cocktail and wine.  Email boquetegourmet@gmail.com to reserve now, only 2 seats available. 

Wednesday, February 16 - 11:00am - "Sourdough and other Natural Starters" presented by artisan baker, Mort Rabkin.   This is a class for those with basic bread-making experience or former students of Mort.  Participants will pick up their starter this coming Tuesday,  and "feed" it during the week prior to class. 
The $25 fee includes
hands-on class, two starters, feeding instructions, recipes for starters & sourdough bread, lunch with wine, a loaf of bread made from your starter and a second starter to take home.  The class will be held at Mort's home in Boquete.  Email boquetegourmet@gmail.com for reservations.

Thursday, February 17 - 5:00pm - "Panamanian Market Cuisine Update" presented by professional chef, Juan Linares.  This is a "must do" class, including innovative Panamanian dishes made from local ingredients.  Class will be held in the Kent kitchen, El Santuario, Boquete.   The fee of $25 includes hands-on class, recipe booklet, gourmet, five-course dinner, a cocktail and wine.  Email Boquetegourmet@gmail.com now to reserve your seat. Thursday, February 24, - 5:00pm - "Cooking Southern-Mexican Style", see above.  Due to popular demand, this is a repeat of the Feb. 4 class.  Contact boquetegourmet@gmail.com to reserve your seat.
    
NEW Sunday, March 6, - 10:00am - "Bring on the Brunches" presented by Minnesota Chef, Alie MacArthur.   You'll learn how to easily host a brunch and how to make never-fail dishes that are perfect for morning entertaining.  This event actually includes 3 brunches at this first-ever morning cooking class in Boquete.  $25 includes hands-on class, recipe booklet, 3 full brunches, morning cocktail and more.   Email boquetegourmet@gmail.com to make your reservation.
