[Noticias] REMINDER: Security Workshop Saturday at Las Ruinas

Please remember to join us for a quick and informative two-hour home security workshop at Las Ruinas restaurant this Saturday at 10AM.

How to Conduct a Risk-Assessment and Perimeter Security Analysis of Your Home

Are you new to Boquete? Are you renting a house? Although Boquete is generally a very safe community, many of the home break-ins are happening to newcomers and renters. Many of the long-term residents have already taken the necessary steps to prevent becoming a victim of home invasion burglary. This workshop will give you the simple, inexpensive, and often free, methods for protecting your home and possessions so that you can enjoy peace of mind living in this beautiful community.

The average residential burglary (many while the homeowners are asleep) costs the resident something over $3,000, not to mention losing valuable and possibly irreplaceable financial information, photographs, legal documents jewelry and peace of mind. For a tiny fraction of that cost, you can theft-proof your home and minimize your exposure to home-invasion burglaries.

Your instructors have been involved in investigating virtually every crime against expats in the Boquete area since Fundacion Alto al Crimen was formed in 2009 to stop the crime wave that was threatening to engulf Boquete. You will learn from first hand experience how to evaluate the vulnerability of your home and what steps to take to protect yourself and your possessions.

TIME and PLACE: Saturday, Feb 5, 10AM to Noon at Las Ruinas - stay for lunch if you wish

PRICE: A voluntary $20 donation is asked per household to help support the community Hot Line. You will also receive a bumper sticker/house sticker of your choosing.

Mark your calendar and we'll see you at Las Ruinas (across from Las Brisas) on Saturday!
