Fwd: About Chayotes & Saturday's soup

What is that goofy, green, almost pear shaped vegetable you see in the market?

Chayote is a
heart-healthy vegetable that takes on the flavors that surround it.

  • It grows easily on vines and is abundant in Panama.
  • It can be eaten raw, in tender slices, and added to enhance salads.
  • Or it can be lightly steamed, chilled, and added to egg or tuna salads.
  • You can also boil it and mix it up along with potatoes or cauliflower to serve as a hot vegetable, seasoned with butter, salt & pepper.
  • Many people don't know that you can use the young leaves to make a daily tea for heart and kidney health.

Tip from Elizabeth: When pealing, do so Under Running Water, or you will experience a drying feeling on your hands from it's juices. (If this happens, aleve with hand lotion.)

Today at Big Daddy's ... and while it lasts... a bowl of  Chayote/Saffron soup made from
Chayotes from Elizabeth's garden, Lemon Grass, Saffron, even Mandarins from our tree! ...and other, more Secret Spices.  Served with a Warmed, Personal Loaf of Bread ... only $5.50.

Flyer Exchange Details
After we got a lot of respose to our last newsletter here are more details about the UPM FlyerRack

In the moment we have about 250 Hotels/Hostels, Restaurants, Points of Interest, where we deliver our magazine UPDATE Panama, plus we have about 200 other places like parties, fairs, streets, business, buildings etc. where the magazine is distributed.
During the remainder of this year we will have 150 places installed with a Flyer Rack where we can also distribute flyers from other companies to promote Panama to travelers - like it is common in many other countries.
We have a fancy “UMP Flyer Rack” for the wall, with 8 or 16 Flyer Slots with a permanent ad for each participating company on each Flyer Slot.

UPM FylerRack-A2 UPM FylerRack-A3
A0 - ca. 46,5" x 33"  A1 - ca. 33" x23,5"

Download the flyer directly

So even when the Flyer Slot is empty the ad shows the basic info’s, your LOGO and QR-code with a link to your website for all Smartphones and iPad users or to download the flyer directly as a PDF/JPG.
In the moment we calculate per Location (Airport, Hotel, Hostel or Restaurants etc.) with $4/month, inclusive the personal Flyer Slot with the ads and QR-Code Service - INCLUDING the distribution to the location.
Renting your specific “Flyer Slot” is only possible for 12 months.

UPDATE Your Fylers
Every 1 - 2 months you can send us your (updated) Flyer – or you send us the art per email (PDF) and we will print the flyers for you at a good price. And if you need the design for the flyer, we also do this for you for a small fee. And we will also inform you when the flyer slots are almost empty and how many people have used the download service.
If you give us a space in your place for the "UPM Flyer Rack" (on the wall A0 or A1), we can give you per slot in a Region of your choice a special price,

·         $3.00 (A0) / Month/Spot
·         $3.50 (A1) /Month/Spot
·         $4.00 – if you don’t have a UPM Flyer Rack

the price is for your own flyers in other locations per slot per month if you like.

If you give us the location/regions where you like to have your flyers permanently - we can see if we have this place already or if we can get it as a new place.

If you recommend directly a place to join the “UPM Distribution Network” you get this FlyerSlot free for one year - if they participate !

We have 15 Regions. And we start to make the Installation of UPM FlyerRack in November in the following areas. (The Goal for 2013 is to have 150 Positions at the end of the year) Help us to reach this Goal.
  UPM network 600
Region POS Region POS  Region POS Region

This means, when you like to have your flyer permanently in 10 locations:
·          4 positions in region 12
·          2 positions in region 1
·          2 positions in region 2
·          2 positions in region 7

If your location is in Panama and you are willing to give us a space in your place, you pay $30 per month with a 12 month contract - this is only $360 a year to have your flyers out there. And we keep care about all. Changing of locations is possible after 4 months.

Print your Fylers with Us
And if you print your flyers with us, we can offer you 2,000 Triptico Flyers for $297
or 200 Triptico flyers for $50 monthly to update your business info’s on the spot.

This mean you have in each location 200 flyers during the year distributed through us. How many flyers do you already have permanently out there, now ?

Total cost is $0,33 for each flyer incl. distribution, print cost , QR-Code service and an ad on 10 Flyer Slots.
We think this is a great price - to get new customers

Fwd: [News Boquete] Last call for Johnny and Leonardo and a Very Special Request

We have combined two messages into one rather than you having to receive two separate emails. The first one is about a very special request to all our BCP supporters. Below that request is information about tomorrow's exciting movie.

BCP - Looking for Materials

We depend on your community support for our many projects.

Currently we are building a rear structure, a covered work area, under which we can build and load scenery and set pieces in and out of the theatre.

We need Carriolas and corrugated metal roofing if you have extra lying around from your building projects.

We are also looking for a shipping (moving) container that we can use in the back of the Event Center to house scenery, props, costumes and other scenic elements.

You may contact us at the email address shown above.

Thank you.

A reminder that tomorrow is the showing of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" at the BCP Theatre. Happy hour starts at 5:00 PM and the movie will start at 6:00 PM.
