News From Bid 4 Boquete

A short note from Bid 4 Boquete

1. Our kick off volunteer meeting will be held this coming Tuesday, 2 pm at El Oasis Restaurant in Boquete. We welcome new faces and welcome back the old guard standbys who've made our events so successful every year. Happy hour prices in effect and B4B t-shirts will be sold at the clearance price of $6 each.

2. Fundacion Sus Buenos Vecions (Banco General) has honored us with another $1000 cash donation because enough of their account holders voted for Bid 4 Boquete in their recent contest in honor of being in business for 15 years. If you voted for us . . . thank you very much. Their president and owner, Sr. Fredrico Humbert matched the $1000 with another $1000 donation from his own private foundation. We hear that Bibloteca Boquete also received $2000 from the same contest.

3. The 2nd big plant sale will be held at the Chiriqui Storage Sunday Flea Market, October 7 from 11:00 until 2 pm. The flea market is located just 1.5 km north of the Terpel Gas Station in Dolega and features more than 30 vendors selling a wonderful assortment of goods (and junk) and food for eating there or for taking home.  We are in the process of updating the photo album showing what plants will be available. Bookmark the site and check back often to see what will be available at the sale. Click HERE.

4. Another site to bookmark is our Auction Gallery which now has 178 (and growing daily) items up for bids.

5. We need a couple of people to take charge of our Live Auction event. If you would like to volunteer to co-chair this very important segment of Bid 4 Boquete, let us know.

6. We're deep into planning something new -- a golf tournament. Probably won't be held until March or April 2013 but we're hoping to attract golfers from all over the country (and beyond). It will be held at the beautiful 18 hole championship Lucero (formally Cielo Paraiso) course.

7. We've obtained Corporate sponsorship from two of the local businesses so far: Chiriqui Storage and Casa Solution. Thank you to both of them.

That's all for now. See you on Tuesday at the meeting.
