Do you know what the BOQUETE ROTARY CLUB has been doing for our community?
1- The Health Clinic (Centro de Salud), located by Romero's Supermarket, is a place that is open to EVERYONE, locals and foreigners, in the community. Boquete Rotary members along with Rotarians from Casper, Wyoming painted the new waiting room that connects the two older buildings, cleaned up the green areas and painted cartoons and animals in some of the children's examining rooms. This art work has made a positive change. The children used be afraid and cry; now they look at the friendly cartoons and animals and they feel more at ease in the Clinic.
2- Boquete Rotary provided around 3,000 books for our beautiful BOQUETE LIBRARY. Also Rotary volunteers help organize and assist in the different areas of the new Library.
This is an on-going project of support.
3- Boquete Rotary donated books and supplies to Palmira Library and to the program "Loco por Leer".
4- Rotary has been supporting schools in the rural areas of Boquete with student and teacher's supplies, clean water and reserve water tanks, as well as upgrading some of the classrooms with whiteboards and student desks. El Banco de Rovira, in Potrerillos, has been helped with computers, new bathrooms for the children as well as student supplies.
5- Rotary has a scholarship program for good students from low income homes.
this is an on-going projet.
6- The Bomberos have received help from the Rotary Club of Boquete in many ways; ambulance supplies, training, as well as fire fighting equipment.
This is another on-going project.
We have more community projects on the horizon.

There are plans to build a disposal unit for both regular garbage and hazardous waste. The Health Clinic is also an on-going project.

In addition, we have helped the Handicap Foundation, the annual Christmas party held each year on the 31st of December and coordinated and funded a reading comprehension course for local teachers. Our programs cover education, literacy, health and water.
We have more community projects on the horizon.
We are the 5th civic organization in the next Bid 4 Boquete event and we need your help to help others.
