A
n Ongoing Conversation

about life, death, suffering, becoming free and points in between

You are welcome to join in as we explore all of the above through nondual teachings from various spiritual traditions and discover that they all point to the same
essential
truths.

The Untethered Soul by Michael Singer.

This book is written for those who are open to the idea that we are not the mentally and emotionally  constructed person we have built up over a lifetime.  Who or what would we be without all our baggage?  How do we unburden ourselves from the repetitive thoughts, feelings and behaviors that have not helped us in our quest for happiness? This book gives a more easily understood introduction to some of the teachings of the great spiritual traditions.
Thursdays 3-4:30  Beginning May 14

The Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram: The Nine Faces of the Soul
by Sandra Maitri

The Enneagram is a remarkable map of the ego. It has popularly been used as a "personality assessment", but it's original intention was far more profound. The work of Claudio Naranjo, Oscar Ichazo, and Sandra Maitri has been a catalyst in the use of the Enneagram as a spiritual teaching and guide.  In this regard the Enneagram describes our particular traits as they relate to our loss of the true self.   The author

explains how the ego first came into existence, and describes its expansion into
the
unique and seeming all pervasive version of ourselves.  It offers a guide to the
undoin
g
of this false self.   This is not an easy read
,
but with group support it is well worth the

effort

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying  by Sogyal Rinpoche

Death is not a popular subject, yet it is the ultimate certainty for us all.  We who have grown up and lived in a western culture have been given almost no information on the process of our own death.  The result is an underlying and pervasive fear of the ending of our lives.  As a result, many of us spend life avoiding this great reality, frantically staying busy and trying to apply meaning to what we do.  A great contribution to our slowly growing education on the process of dying has come from the spiritual leaders of Tibet.  In this book they remind us that how we live our lives is intricately intertwined with our death, and that we can come to a new understanding of what it means to inhabit a body and live in a "world".   Call or email for start date and times
