ARF is an organization that helps animals and families in the Boquete area. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers. We share in all of aspects of the operations and decisions of ARF. I would like to thank the ARF volunteers and the people of Boquete for the support they have shown our organization this last year. ARF has adopted over 100 animals during this time. We supply food to over 50 animals in the community. Presently we are establishing communication with the Boquete Police Department to discuss the best way to support Law 70, which is the animal rights law. We are hoping to establish a procedure whereby a representative of the police department comes with us when we go to investigate infractions of the law. We have started an educational program for younger children. We are also establishing vaccination clinics, and have just held our first successful event in Dolega. Our next one will be here in Boquete. We are in the process of discussing how to establish a dog and cat food bank for animals and caregivers in need of assistance. ARF operates from an annual budget of $6500 and creates fund raising events throughout the year to help raise those funds. Over the last year we have offered a bi-monthly Bingo game as a continuing source of income. We have held a Cajun Festival, a Pet/Kids Photos with Santa event, and a Christmas Caroling through the streets of Boquete fund raiser, which was supported by The Art Café, Big Daddy's and Mike's Global Grill. This year we are creating two more wonderful and fun events for the fall. Aside from fund raising, ARF depends on donations of pet food, and we are actively contacting pet food companies and grocery stores to find out what type of support they can give us. Of course, we also depend on the generous monetary donations from the community. Donations of food may be made at Curvas Bonita and we have a pay pal account on our Face Book page and on our new and beautiful web site,www arf.boquete.com. We are enthusiastic about entering our second year of service to the animals and community of Boquete and look forward to building upon the foundation we have established during these first 12 months.
