Housing for Cuban migrants

FOLLOWING the confirmation of 15 cases of the H1N1 flu and the death of one victim the  Ministry of Health has declared a health alert in the province of Chiriqui

The victims include one child who is in intensive care.

To prevent the spread of the flu, health authorities have recommended constant hand washing and the covering of the face when sneezing or coughing.

Ministry official Omaira Ferguson said that one of the cases involved a Cuban migrant, who died in a hospital. A second is still in the hospital with chronic symptoms.

The ministry has sought to take precautions to prevent the spread of the flu in areas where Cuban immigrants are being housed.
