Pilates- A Great Form of Exercise for your Body/Mind Integrating and Challenging the Total You!
The above photos are of exercises done in the Pilates on the Ball Classes. Quite an extensive warm-up proceeds all the sequences we do, and everyone proceeds at their own pace. Difficult movements are proceeded by easier, basic movements. There's always a way to do everything to a lesser degree, so you can build up to doing more.
Simply Said- Pilates is the Best. It's strengthening, stretching, improves balance and coordination, teaches body awareness for good posture, strengthens the core promoting back and spinal health, and is anatomically symmetrical and precise. There's nothing weird or off the wall about the sequences which compose it, as they incorporate natural body movement- using concentration and the body as its own machine- to develop muscular strength and flexibility. Pilates works toward the creation of greater fluidity and ease of motion, building a sense of overall well-being.

The Pilates Mat and Stretching Class is a good overall stretch, placing emphasis on strengthening the core as the back and abdominal muscles gain flexibility and strength.
The upper body and shoulders also get a lot of attention, working on opening and strengthening the arms and chest.
Both are good classes to be taken on their own or with each other.
To gain greater flexibility and strength it is recommended that students attend class at least twice weekly. Or if not, to practice at home [in between classes], so to feel as though one is progressing.
