Paul Myers' Spring Field Trips
Except for Pacific Islands, trips are free, Most are limited to 15 people, with 3 volunteer drivers. The usual start time is 8:15 a.m. Learn how geologists work in the field to reconstruct geologic history and contribute to engineering projects; Free handouts.
Boquete Local: Volcan Baru, Evolution of Caldera River
4-Hr: 1/9 (2 vacancies), 2/5, 3/5; 6-Hr: 1/25, 2/22, 4/2
Caldera Petroglyphs, Gualaca Park: Hot ash flow into ocean sediments: 3 27.
Volcan: Baru NP; Caldera and Debris Avalanche; +/- optional stops en route. 3/16, 4/13, 5/ 4
Pacific Islands: Volcanogenic marine sedimentary rocks. Boat tour with lunch (Fee tba) 4/30, 5/13(?)
Other field trips may be arranged based on demand.
