[News Boquete] Thank You to the Boquete Community

 

Thank you again to the wonderful expat community of Boquete. This weekend was so exciting!

 

With the help of Mr. John Harman, who very generously donated money of his own, plus contributions from his golf partners in Valle Escondido, I collected $190 which went for toys for 9 children across from Mango´s restaurant and a very large amount of groceries.. Also, food was delivered to the very poor indigenous family with 12 kids that have no running wáter, or electric.

 

Ms. Connie Zelinsky took the pregnant mother of 7 a play pen that also doubles as a bed for her new baby on the way. I also delivered food and 4 mattresses as some of the kids did not have a place to sleep.  We found out that this pregnant mother is unable to receive any subsidy or help for her or her children, because her birth was never registered and she does not have cedula or any other paperwork for her or her children, so through the legal team of Empresas Charbit, we will assist her in obtaining her documentation and hopefully she will be able to receive subsidy.

 

Ms. Nancy Halbert donated a Hot and Delicious cooked Turkey Dinner which was delivered yesterday to both indigenous families and boy what a treat they had, their smiles and honest gratitute was priceless. Ms. Nancy has very generously offered to help us feed the children through our new program as soon as the school starts, by helping with the food preparation and cooking.  Ms. Jane Abrutyn also donated a very large and generous food basket today for family #3 of our original request for donations. Empresas Charbit also donated $450 cash to the Lions Club through the school of Los Naranjos to complete their shortage of food baskets to be delivered by the Lions Club to needy families on the 23rd.

 

So, we continue with the hard work and effort and thank each and everyone in the community who helped out and made a difference for all families, which ascended to a total of 7 and an excess of 30 children.................THANK YOU.
