What is a GMO anyway? Find out as Dr. Bill gives a detailed and informative description which will set the record straight as he presents just the facts. Did you know that it happened for the first time just up the road at the Boquete trout farm? The idea of using a GMO for food actually has its origin way back in 1972. Tuesday, February 18 – Dr. Paul Myers – Geologic of Living in Caldera River Valley – "Living safely in Boquete's rapidly evolving Landscape".
Immigrants attracted to Panama by its ideal climate often reman naively unaware of its unique hidden hazards, many of which can be avoided by knowing the "warning signs" and making wise decisions. This talk focuses on hazards with a geological connection; volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides, and mega-floods. In general, all of these can be mitigated by living on stable high ground with a sustainable, potable groundwater supply.
I will show you how to recognize the warning signs using visual examples (slides) from the Boquete area.
