Buenos Vecinos of Boquete could use your help. We are collecting these plastic containers that have the plastic lids with a carrying loop. We want to make hanging planters so our needy families can grow their own veggies. Once the plant start has been transported in the container, if there is a place for it to be transplanted, the container will be returned to us to use again. If the family doesn't have anywhere to transplant into the ground, they can continue to grow the plant in the container. We can use any 1 gallon plastic container with a handle. Its previous contents can be water, juice, etc., as long as the bottle is clean. Our first project was sweet potatoes and we have provided every family with six sweet potato starts. Our next project is going to be moringa plants, which are highly nutritious. There are more than 100 families in the area who would be ever so grateful!
You can drop them off at the Buenos Vecinos table at the Tuesday Market Arco Iris building in the fairgrounds.
Gracias!!
