BCP has given permission to raise funds to paint in detail the Quetzal on the iron gate that leads to the foyer between the BCP Theater and the Hex Room. The work will be done by Richar Huiza, a Boquete artist who you can see at the Market every Tuesday, and who paints the "Birds of Panama" series on 9" cedar cedar plates and tagua nut slices that I offer at my table every Tuesday at the BCP Morning Market.
Below are pictures of the gate as it currently appears, and one of the painted cedar plates that Richar painted, and will use as inspiration for a colorful upgrade for the quetzal and the leaves on the gate.
Richar Huiza and his family with Jose (Arte) de la Cruz Gonzales - famous Panama carver/sculptor/artist from Volcan.
