Violence ruled out in American reservist's death
Panama's Public Prosecutor's Office reported on Saturday, May 5 that it has ruled out the possibility that a 71-year-old retired US naval reservist died a violent death in Boquete.
A statement said that after investigations, including an autopsy carried out by the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences (Imelcf) the possibility that Joseph Wilcox, died violently was negated.
Wilcox was found, on May 1 without vital signs in one of the rooms of his house in Santa Lucia de Alto Boquete, Chiriqui.
Friends and neighbors alerted police after not seeing him for several days.
Authorities arrived, found the body in one of the bathrooms in an advanced state of decomposition.
Neighbors said that he lived alone in the house.
