Law 49 of 2018.
The government of Panama has granted a moratorium period for the payment of real estate and corporation taxes .
According to the new law 49 of September 11, until December 2018 you have the opportunity to pay the taxes without interest, neither surcharges, fines or inactivation penalties.
Last year the government started to fine corporations and legal entities that where behind payment for 3 years with an inactivation fine of USD$1000.00. With this new regulation only until december, 2018, the tax payers can avoid the payment of said fine, charges and penalties and bring their entities in good standing.
The law also allow tax payers to establish arragements for the payment of property taxes up to a 6 months ´s term without interest or charges.
The law also establish a period to pay without the interest, charges, or fines sums corresponding to Social security fees.
Remember: This moratorium will be valid until December 31, 2018 for all taxpayers!

El gobierno de Panamá ha otorgado un período de moratoria para el pago de impuestos sobre bienes inmuebles y corporativos.
La ley 49 del 11 de septiembre del presente año establece que hasta diciembre de 2018 usted tiene la oportunidad de pagar los impuestos sin intereses, ni recargos, penalidades o multas por inactivación.
El año pasado el gobierno impuso multas de inactivación por la suma USD $1000.00 a las entidades jurídicas con deuda en 3 períodos o más. Con esta nueva regulación solo hasta diciembre de 2018, los contribuyentes pueden rehabilitar o re activar sus entidades evitando el pago de dicha multa, cargos y penalidades.
La ley también permite a los contribuyentes establecer acuerdos de pago de impuesto de inmueble hasta por un plazo de 6 meses máximo, sin intereses ni recargos.
La ley también establece un período para pagar cuotas de seguro social sin intereses.
Recuerde: ¡esta moratoria será válida hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2018 para todos los contribuyentes!
