How does this work? Well, first you need to download the "eBird" app on to your phone. Signing up for it is easy and it's free. The whole process is free. Once you have the app, then all you have to do is to add all of the birds that you see that particular day. Ah, but what if you don't know the names of the birds? Well, if you download the other APP, "Merlin Bird ID", it has an algorithm that will help you to identify the particular bird based on location of sighting, size, color, what it was doing, and presto, it gives you a list of possible birds with a nice photo and it's given name.
