Did You Know??
You probably already know that our mission is to provide low cost spaying and neutering of cats and dogs and to promote the general welfare of animals in our community and surrounding areas.
But did you know that we never turn away an animal, regardless of the owner's ability to pay? As of October 2024 we have sterilized 30,548 animals - 15,628 dogs and 14,920 cats
Or that the cost of a single sterilization far outweighs the amount we charge? In fact, while we only charge $10 for a cat and $20 for a dog, on average for all animals, our cost is $25.78 per animal but we only receive $13.19. THAT IS A SHORTFALL EVERY MONTH OF ABOUT $3,500
Every animal we sterilize receives anasthesia, plus medications for pain, antibiotics, anti-parasitics and amino acids. We have other costs for syringes, sutures, bandages, wraps for the cats, food for the volunteers, typical maintenance expenses for our building, and more. That does not include our costs for the feeding stations we maintain around the community or the cost of supplies for our onging education program.
