[News Boquete] Boquete Hospice & Health

The Boquete Health & Hospice Foundation (BHH) has implemented strategic refinements to its mission in order to enhance services, strengthen operational clarity, and ensure full alignment with Panamanian cultural and legal frameworks. As a non-medical support organization, BHH is dedicated to connecting individuals with essential resources, education, and compassionate assistance.

Core Areas of Service

Community Support & Education

  • "Be Prepared" workshops for expats navigating Panama's legal and health systems
  • Free CPR certification classes for both expat and local residents
  • Bilingual information and referral line, including connections to mental health providers

Medical Equipment Loans

  • Short-term medical equipment loans, with priority given to terminal cases
  • Service available to both expat and local communities

Hospice Support Coordination

  • Collaboration with Panamanian healthcare professionals to promote dignified end-of-life care
  • Trained volunteer teams offering equipment, logistical guidance, and supportive presence

Operational Enhancements

New Administrative Structure
BHH has adopted a clearer organizational structure, distinguishing governance from day-to-day operations to improve efficiency and responsiveness.

Improved Accessibility

  • Office open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, located across from the Boquete Library
  • Bilingual administrative assistant Jasiel available onsite to assist visitors and callers

Centralized Communication

  • All inquiries and requests should be sent via WhatsApp at +507 6781-9250
  • Calls are returned the next business day

Commitment to Compliance & Cultural Sensitivity

BHH remains firmly rooted in its role as a culturally attuned support organization, operating within the boundaries of Panamanian law.

"We're focused on what we do best—guiding people through end-of-life decisions with clarity, compassion, and respect," said Jeanie Miller, Director of BHH. "This refined structure allows us to offer sustainable, meaningful support when individuals and families need it most."
