but remember the only limit is your imagination. This will be a really fun class.
We might even go and feel the energy of some trees :-) Just think you can have a
little bit of "Lord of the Rings" in your back yard.
Day 1 - Working with concrete and mortar, forming the basic tree art frame
The tools you need for working with concrete -
Safety procedures for concrete
How to properly mix concrete and mortar including the common formulas and
some of the additives used in concrete.
Adding powdered color to your concrete
Forming the wire to reinforce the tree art and creating the basic shape. we also will
be using cement fiber to make our tree art strong and long lasting.
We will create the basic shapes of our art
Day 2 - Filing, texturing - creating the final look
We will take the work done the day before and add detaillearn shaping with a file and sand paper
learn to carve the cement
make special cement for fine finish work
add bright colors if desired
Make a few more pieces for the next day.
Day 3 - Touch up and more finish work.
Shaping semi dried concrete with rasps and grinders.
More polishing, carving and touching up our pieces from Day 1

We have enjoyed teaching so many people Cement Art. All of our students have really produced incredible work. I am amazed at the level of creativity in Boquete and Volcan.
The cost for this 4-day workshop is $40 including all materials and supplies.
This includes cement, sand, dry concrete dyes, acid stains, and the use of our tools, etc
