Mold season continues. Unfortunately, my ozone generator did not continue but broke down around three or four weeks ago when there was a lot of need for it to kill off mold and odors in people's houses and cars. The good news is that I have a new one on the way, arriving later this week. AND the good news also is that the new one will generate about 70% more ozone, giving it the ability to kill odors and mold better and faster. There is slightly bad news. As we all know, there is no such thing as a free lunch. The new machine cost more than the old one, and the daily rental rate now will be $20. But in 24 hours you can thoroughly treat your home and your car and probably your workshop, bodega, etc. as well.
Ozone does not just mask odors from mold, cooking or cigarette smoke. The free oxygen atom in ozone combines chemically with them to change their composition and eliminate them. In the case of mold, the oxygen actually kills the mold.
If you have problems with mold on shoes, leather coats, leather jackets, other clothing, furniture, area rugs, draperies, leather furniture, picnic tables, etc. I recommend El Matador Mold Killer spray because it provides long-term, essentially permanent prevention of mold. Because most of us enjoy living with open windows in Boquete, eventually more mold spores will enter after an ozone treatment. Mold will grow in various places in the house, including nooks, crannies, cracks and crevices where nothing but ozone can penetrate and kill it.
