Tuesday, November 20—The RIGHT wine is the wine YOU enjoy
Louise Orr spent 29 years in the California wine business. During that time she worked as a Marketing Coordinator for De Loach Vineyards of Sonoma County, and for Boisset America, a French wine firm, that acquired De Loach in 2003. In 2007 she retired to Boquete and has been active with Buenos Vecinos de Boquete food charity, and the BCP Theater. Louise takes a practical, relaxed approach to the enjoyment of wine. She will offer some tips on buying, serving, and becoming confident about your wine choices. After all, the topic of her Tuesday Talk is "The RIGHT wine is the wine YOU enjoy!"
Tuesday, November 27—Filippo Maestrini from Grupo Aguas Chiriqui will address the current
water quality in Boquete, different methods for water purification, and how to maintain your water purification system.
Tuesday, December 4 – Doctor Wong, Director of Hospital Cooperativo and members of the hospital staff will present information about the hospital and its medical discount plan. A native English-speaking translator will provide clear, understandable interpretation.
Hospital Cooperativo is the only non-profit private hospital in Panama. There are around twenty doctors affiliated with the hospital plus psychologists and nutritionists. Recent additions include new consulting rooms, a new pharmacy location and a new outpatient surgery clinic.
Insurance is rather expensive for seniors (if available at all), but this plan will allow low costs for most normal medical care, and the money saved by not paying insurance premiums can be set aside for larger expenses.
It has already-low prices made even lower by annual membership in the discount plan for $120 per person per year
Renewals for existing members and new sign-ups for the plan may be processed immediately after the meeting.

Are you ready if Volcan Baru decides to erupt? Learn how to prepare, when this might happen, and how you can mitigate hazards. Dr. Myers will discuss the geological background, ways to lessen consequences, and organization of volunteer researchers. This is always a very popular Talk, so please arrive early to claim your seat!
