Event: Remembering 9/11 and Announcing Changes to Movement Restrictions Beginning September 14
The American flag is flying at half-staff today. Please take time to watch this video and remember those we lost in the attacks of 9/11.
On August 25, the Government of Panama announced plans to reduce movement restrictions and open up additional economic sectors, starting on September 7. The plan is conditional upon meeting certain criteria regarding the control of the COVID-19 pandemic in Panama.
On September 7 the Government of Panama opened the following economic sectors: Construction and related activities (engineers, architects, project managers, contractors, moving services), Panama Pacifico, Colon Free Zone and other free trade zones, private ship docks and sports fishing, tailor shops, shoe shops, and carwashes will resume operations.
On September 14, the following changes in movement restrictions will be implimented: Gender-based movement restrictions are lifted and 'salvoconductos' become null and void, except for those occupations that require movement during curfew hours. Curfew will be from 11pm to 5am, Monday through Saturday. Sundays will remain days of total quarentine.
For additional details about the plan, visit the website of the Ministry of the Presidency.
