[News Boquete] Come and bid at the live auction

Just to clarify any confusion that might exist. Admission to the wine tasting at 4 pm Saturday at the library is with paid ticket only. We expect all wine drinkers will want to stay for the live auction that follows immediately at 6 pm. However, if you're not going to the wine tasting, you can come by the library at 6 to bid on the wonderful group of auction items that will be put up for sale. We are bringing in a professional auctioneer from the United States and there should be good fun and good deals.

We will be auctioneering off a variety of items from some original paintings by local artists to some high-end jewelry. Also a completely new kitchen, an exercise workout bench and accessories.

Come on by and help support a variety of charitable organizations in our community.

[News Boquete] Art Exhibition by Boquete Artists

The Boquete Artists is having their first-ever art exhibition in March on the third floor of the Biblioteca de Boquete. The artwork will be on display beginning March 1st and there will be an opening reception where you can meet the artists on March 7th, from 3 - 5 p.m. at the library.

Many types of visual art will be on display: paintings, collage, illuminated metal art and more. Some of the art will be for sale.

Join us for our Espresso & Latte Art -basics- workshop at coffeelab The Cafelier to learn all about espresso extraction, grinding, dosing, … and Latte Art basics.

This Saturday the 22nd of Feb, we teach you how to stretch and texture milk into glossy microfoam. Learn how to pour basic patterns by free pour - and etching techniques.

First, we cover the basics of Specialty Coffee knowledge, explaining different coffee varieties, blends, roasting profiles and Italian espresso recipes. During the second half of the workshop, you get the chance to practise behind the espressomachine and pour your cappuccinos with Latte Art under the expert guidance of your Barista Trainer Melanie D. Nunes, Belgian Barista Champion 2009.
