Health Alert for U.S. Citizens in Panama: February 4, 2025
Event: On January 31, 2025, the CDC issued a updated Travel Health Notice (THN) regarding outbreaks of the Oropouche virus in the Darien province of Panama. Individuals are encouraged to review the notice prior to any travel to the designated region. Additionally, the CDC raised the THN level for the Darien province to Level 2 – Practice Enhanced Precautions. The rest of Panama remains at THN Level 1 – Practice Usual Precautions.
