The U.S. Embassy in Panama is pleased to announce that representatives from the Regional Federal Benefits Office will visit the U.S. Embassy in Panama City to offer services for beneficiaries or individuals with questions about U.S. Social Security benefits.
Where: U.S. Embassy Consular Section, U.S. Embassy Panama City, Panama
When: June 23, 24, & 25 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
No appointment necessary, but please be prepared to wait as all services are “first come, first served.”
What to bring for Social Security services (please bring the originals and legible copies of all documents to be submitted):
Applying for Social Security Benefits: Bring the original and one copy of the following documents for each applicant: birth certificate and passport. If applying for auxiliary benefits or survivor’s benefits, please also bring your marriage certificate and/or spouse’s death certificate.
Social Security Number (SSN) Card Application (under age 12): Bring copies of the valid U.S. passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad of the applicant, as well as a completed form SS-5FS signed by applicant. Alternatively, bring the original foreign birth certificate of the applicant (registered before age 5), as well as a completed form SS-5FS signed by applicant’s parent or guardian.
Social Security Number (SSN) Card Application (over age 12): An in-person interview for the applicant is also a requirement for SSN card applicants over the age of 12. Applicants should bring copies of the valid U.S. passport, original birth certificate (registered before age 5) or Consular Report of Birth Abroad of the applicant, and a completed form SS-5FS signed by applicant. Additionally, we require proof of all the years the applicant has been residing abroad (e.g.: letters from schools and universities indicating enrollment dates, vaccination records, medical records, identification or passports (valid or expired), employment letters, marriage certificate(s), divorce certificate(s), children’s birth certificates, etc.).
Foreign Enforcement Questionnaire (FEQ): If your benefits are currently suspended due to this form, please visit during this outreach.

La Embajada de los Estados Unidos en Panamá se complace en anunciar que representantes de la Oficina Regional de Beneficios Federales visitará la Embajada en la Ciudad de Panamá para ofrecer servicios a beneficiarios o personas con preguntas del Seguro Social de los Estados Unidos.
Dónde: La Sección Consular, Embajada de los Estados Unidos, Ciudad de Panamá.

Servicios sin cita previa: No es necesario pedir cita, sin embargo, debe estar dispuesto a esperar, dependiendo del número de visitantes.
¿Qué documentos presentar para los servicios del Seguro Social? Por favor lleve los documentos originales y una copia legible de todos los documentos que vaya a presentar para cada servicio.
Solicitar beneficios del Seguro Social: Por favor presente el original y una copia de los siguientes documentos por cada solicitante: certificado de nacimiento y pasaporte. Si está solicitando prestaciones auxiliares o prestaciones de supervivencia, por favor traiga también el certificado de matrimonio y/o el certificado de defunción de su cónyuge.
Solicitar tarjeta de Número de Seguro Social para menores de 12 años: Por favor traer copias del pasaporte válido de Estados Unidos y del Reporte Consular de Nacimiento en el Extranjero del solicitante, así como un formulario SS-5FS completado y firmado por el solicitante. Alternativamente, traiga el certificado de nacimiento original del solicitante (registrado antes de los 5 años), así como un formulario SS-5FS completado y firmado por el padre o guardián del solicitante.
Solicitud de tarjeta de Número de Seguro Social para mayores de 12 años: Una entrevista en persona para el solicitante también es un requisito para los solicitantes de una tarjeta de SSN mayores de 12 años. Los solicitantes deben traer copias del pasaporte válido de Estados Unidos, el certificado de nacimiento original (registrado antes de los 5 años) o el Reporte Consular de Nacimiento en el Extranjero del solicitante, y un formulario SS-5FS completado y firmado por el solicitante.
