Holiday greetings from Foundation Alto al Crimen

Reply To: Alto al Crimen <info@altoalcrimen.org>

Greetings, This year we head into the Christmas holidays with the excellent news that there has not been a single Boquete expat home burglary reported to us in more than two months. However, with all the outsiders in town, we want everyone to check that lock, close that window or put a bell on that gate. All of your individual actions, taken together, will keep Boquete a very safe place to live. Foundation Alto al Crimen (Stop the Crime) is pleased to report that this week, thanks to Boquete's good friend Stone and volunteers Vicki and Dafne, we were able to provide a Christmas lunch to the local police and Bomberos. Maintaining good relations with these agencies is a key part of our strategy, letting them know that the expats are their friends, are here to help if they need it and are interested in the results they produce. This has proved to be very successful in the past and we will continue working with them in the future. Meanwhile, the Boquete Hot Line continues to provide a valuable emergency response service to the community. Thanks to generous contributions of time and equipment, our intrepid operator, Rodny Morales, has been equipped with a new computer system including voice control to facilitate his 24/7 efforts on behalf of our community. With your ongoing support, we have plans for further improving this valuable service in the coming year. For those of you who have expressed an interest in another round of home security and/or firearms workshops, we are planning these for the early part of 2012. If you have already contacted us, we have your name. If you would like to be added, we will put put an announcement shortly. Of course, your donations are what keeps Foundation Alto al Crimen working to protect Boquete from crime. If you would like to support our efforts, you can put a check in an envelope addressed to Alto al Crimen and drop it off at Mailboxes. Note that for the bank, it needs to be made out precisely to Foundation Alto al Crimen. Happy holidays and we hope you enjoy all the wonderful events that make Boquete such a lively place at this time of year, The Alto al Crimen Team
