Hal de Mun, A Benefactor to Chiriqui has Passed

Dear Readers,

 

Our great benefactor of books has left us.

Hal died this morning at 10:30am.

 

Hal’s Bookmark was a beacon for those of us who in the earlier years had nowhere to go for Our beloved Books in English.

We found his stand in Romero’s and at Olga’s Breakfast Place. We bought our books from him, and then turned our books back into him at The BookMart in Dolega. ( and for credit for future books, no less).

We did not think he would be with us long when we met him in 2004.

He fooled us (and himself).

He lasted through Us and  what I call “Another Generation” of Readers In the Region. Post 2004.

Thank You Hal. I hope the new Library in Boquete… has a Dedication to You.

I hope that people who knew Hal will post things everywhere.

Here was a Man..Who “Filled a Void”.

The Family has been informed. If there are services they will be posted.
