New Year's Eve Celebration, Panamonte Style
The Panamonte Inn in Boquete invites you to join in their New Year's Eve Celebration.
The festivities begin at 8:30 PM in the El Salto Cocktail lounge with complimentary canapés.
At 9:00 PM, Chef Charlie Collins will again unfold a 6 course tasting extravaganza.
Each elegant and delicious course will be paired with a wine chosen by the Panamonte's sommelier.
After dinner, the evening will continue in the El Salto Cocktail Lounge
with music, party favors, champagne...and grapes.
Here in Panama on New Year's Eve, there is a charming tradition. At midnight, you take a dozen grapes, one for each month. You hold a silver coin in one hand and hold, or wear, gold jewelry in the other. As you eat each grape, you make a wish for each month. Finally, you toast with champagne and then you may kiss friends, family, and even strangers as the mood strikes you.
Following this ritual insures health, wealth and love for the coming year.
