[News Boquete] Beat the Rainy Season Blues with Cabaret at BCP this weekend

To beat the Rainy Season Blues, there's nothing like the rocking and rolling Cabaret at BCP this weekend. Newcomers to Boquete, Paul and Hope Morgan have pulled together an impromptu and delightful evening of song and comedy  starring many of Boquete's most loved and enjoyed performers - Come on down, have a drink, hang out with your friends and go home feeling happy and humming some of your favorite tunes. No big message here folks, just our favorite performers weaving an ensemble performance of throughly enjoyable comedy and song.

Yella Werder and Lane Suarez, backed by Tom, anchor the vocal performances, while Louise Orr and Shirley Maffitt provide hilarious comedy as two drunk clubbers attempting to get home in a Panama City taxi cab. Not only is Lane a talented singer, behind the scenes she has been a key player in keeping BCP up and running for the last year. We are saddened to know she will soon be leaving Boquete and we will need three or four people to take her place in BCP.  This will be her last performance at BCP and we want to express our thanks for all she has done for our community.

Bob and Brandy Gregory weave their talents into the cabaret, Bob at one point claiming (believably enough) to be the 10,000 year old man, while Brandy proves a lady can't win over a man with her rifle. Harry and Nancy Halbert likewise weave through the evening, with Harry as one of the Foggy Bottom Boys and Nancy doing improv. Phyllis McNaughton hilariously instructs Yella on singing technique, while Kent does an absolutely knockout rendition of Hallelujah backed by Yella, Brandy and Lane.

Our new friends, Paul and Hope Morgan, display their considerable onstage talents, not to mention organizing and directing the production in a mere ten days. Personally, I am delighted to have this new and complimentary direction added to our already excellent BCP theater menu. Come on down Friday and Saturday nights at 7PM and hang out with your friends, onstage and off. Hoot and holler, laugh and clap and go home feeling great. I for one will be there to cheer them on.
