[News Boquete] Southwest Airlines will soon fly to the Caribbean

I was in Houston, TX for a month in July. As you may already know, Southwest Airlines' headquarters is there. They have the best safety record of all lines, and the best "on-time" record of all the carriers.

I saw a television ad while there which said that, "...soon Southwest was going to start flying to Central and South America."

They are at this time entertaining emails, requests and suggestions as to which places to fly. 

In 2011, Southwest^® Airlines acquired AirTran^® Airways

All AirTran planes will eventually integrate into the Southwest brand forming a single network, reservation system, and loyalty program. Combined, Southwest and AirTran serve 97 destinations in the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The plan is to have AirTran completely integrated into Southwest Airlines by the end of 2014.
