Karina is a young mentally unstable woman who becomes aggressive when unmedicated. She requires constant supervision and lives with her mother, Edita, in a small rundown wood building in a cane field. Father puts in a rare appearance. They have few visitors because people have become afraid of Karina's outbursts. Karina and her mother look forward to BVB's monthly social visit and much needed food supply.
