[News Boquete] 6 Ongoing Pilates Ball and Mat Classes at the Haven Weekly!


For Beginners- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30- 9:45 a.m.,
   and Intermediates- Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m- 11:15,
In the Beautiful Yoga and Pilates/ Exercise Studio at the Haven.

The Pilates Method is a precision based, systematic and anatomically sophisticated form of exercise which creates a mind-body connection and ¨produces leaner, longer muscles, balances strength and flexibility, improves posture and core strength, helps prevent injury or speed recovery from injury, and enhances overall functional movement and mobility." The Pilates Method is based on the stabilization of the spine during the execution of all exercises. It also teaches its participants how to recruit the pelvic floor muscles during the execution of many of its exercises.
The systematic design of the Pilates Method supports the graceful flow of one continual movement into the next building stamina.

A classic Pilates class is performed half on the mat and half utilizing a piece of apparatus. Mat work is the foundation of the Pilates Method. The addition of a piece of apparatus enhances the exercises done on the mat adding resistance, challenge and variety to the mat work. Working on a stability or Swiss-ball, provides a mobile base requiring balance as it serves to recruit deep stabilizing muscles. It also increases the awareness of oneś body in space enhancing coordination. Movements utilizing light hand weights are also done, on the ball and as one is standing.

The Pilates Method teaches a skill set requiring commitment. For one to experience the benefits of the Pilates system it needs to be practiced on a regular basis: optimally 3 or more times a week, or at least twice weekly. However, once weekly is better than not doing it at all, as attendance once weekly will more than likely catalyze oneś ambition to commit to doing more.

Joseph H. Pilates said about his method of exercise-
'In ten sessions, you will feel the difference,
in twenty sessions you will see the difference,and
in thirty you will have a whole new body.¨

To support one's disciplined commitment the Haven is presently offering 2 different packages of prepaid classes-
3 classes weekly for 4 weeks= $60*
2 classes weekly for 4 weeks= $48*
* All classes of a package must be taken within 4 weeks from the first class.

Classes may also be paid for individually- Pay as you Come for $7.
Too, Private classes are available for $30 each, or two classes for $50 prepaid.

All class materials provided. Group classes are limited to 10 students each.
