REPRINTED FROM NEWSROOM PANAMA
An event shocked the quiet community in Alto Boquete, when a Canadian citizen identified as Bruce Chymboryk 67 decided to end his life October 30th. According to preliminary reports, the man arrived at the residence he shared with his wife, presumably to retrieve his belongings. In a fit of desperation, he allegedly committed suicide in front of the house. National Police units and the municipal representative of the Public Ministry, Jonathan Valdez, arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area, and carried out the procedures for the removal of the body, while the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
Residents of the area expressed their dismay at what happened, as the foreigner was known and appreciated in the community. According to sources close to the case, episodes of violence may have triggered this tragedy. Psychologist Karina Castillo noted that these types of events highlight the importance of addressing mental health and seeking timely support in the face of family conflicts: "There are always alternatives and help available for those going through difficult times," she emphasized.
