The National Immigration Service of Panama (SNM) has established a moratorium period for the processing of change of residence requests, effective until December 31, 2025. During this period, no fines will be imposed for changes of residence that were not reported within the 30-day legal deadline.
To ensure that your information remains up to date with the Immigration Office, we kindly recommend that you complete these procedures directly at the National Immigration Service (SNM), Registration Department, by presenting the following documents:
- Notarized copy of your property Public Deed (if it is in the name of an entity copy of the deed of the entity showing the legal representative and a letter from the legal representative certifying the spouse or other dependents are living in the property in the case there are dependents)
or Notarized copy of your lease agreement (copy of landlord ID).
- Letter of responsibility signed by the owner of the address when you are not renting but living with the owner of the property plus Certification issued by a Justice of the Peace certifying you live there.
In all cases include:
· Notarized copy of a recently issued utility bill (electricity, water, or telephone) that shows the address
· Copies of your resident card, passport page, registration seal, and last entrance
Additionally, if you have renewed your passport, we recommend having the registration seal stamped in your new passport.
These procedures do not require an attorney, so you may proceed directly at the Immigration Office closer to you before the deadline. However, if you need assistance, you may contact an attorney.
