[News Boquete] Catia - BoKitty Camp is coming — and the purring is about to get a whole lot louder in Boquete!

We at DogCamp Boquete NGO are very excited to share that construction will soon begin on *Catia – BoKitty Camp by DogCamp*! We will continue improving the spaces and care for our dogs while expanding our ability to provide shelter, care, and adoption opportunities for more kittens. Thank you, Ted, for believing in this project and making its construction possible. We’re grateful to share your words and excited for this new chapter. *DogCamp Boquete NGO – since 2014* *Message by Ted Hannig:* BoKitty Camp is coming — and the purring is about to get a whole lot louder in Boquete! For five years I’ve been proud to stand with this community in supporting Boquete DogCamp. Their work in rescue, shelter, and sterilization has made a real, lasting difference for so many of our four-legged canine friends - and had a very positive impact on the community not only getting so many stray dogs off the street but showing that we humans have compassion for animals. My hope has always been that the more compassion people show for animals the more compassion they show each other as humans. What many people don’t realize is that the inspirational founders -Javier and Magaly - actually started with cat rescue. A kitten named Catia. They’ve continued helping cats whenever they could, but without the right facilities, they simply haven’t been able to do for our feline friends what they’ve done so beautifully for dogs. Boquete is full of wonderful people who already give their time and hearts to cats. Even with all that generosity, the need is still greater than what we can meet as individuals. That’s why I know they will welcome this additional Support the same way they welcome the strays they help. At Rio de Amor we have five rescue cats (or, more accurately, they have us!). Plenty of friends and others have taken in strays too joining a small handful of folks helping in Boquete. In the past, I’ve donated to groups that are trying to help… It’s meaningful work — but it’s not enough. After watching the integrity, impact, and heart of the DogCamp team over the years — including when they stood firm against people who tried to undermine this critical mission — I’m joining them in a new chapter. Together we’re launching BoKitty Camp (yes the name is part of my quirky sense of humor) - a dedicated cat and kitten rescue and adoption program right at DogCamp. It will have the space and capability to support dozens of cats, giving them the care, safety, and chance at adoption they deserve. This is about addition, not subtraction. When you get a moment, please look at the video that I’m posting here about DogCamp and then you’ll understand. Perhaps why I chose it to be the new addition for kitten and cat rescue and shelter in Boquete. The dog programs will stay strong; we’re simply expanding the same spirit of care to our feline community. I’m honored to fund the construction of BoKitty Camp so we can get started. But launching it is only the beginning. Sustaining it will take volunteers, supporters, and the same community spirit that has made DogCamp such a force for good. Mark your calendars: on February 6th, as our 5th annual Puppy Love Party becomes the Puppy and BoKitty Love Party. Come celebrate the dogs we’ve been helping and the cats were about to welcome. We have some very exciting news coming about that event so stay tuned. Let’s add more good to the gato efforts. The dogs have been in great hands with DogCamp. Now the cats get additional help— and I can’t wait to hear the purring from the cats and the other cat rescue organizations that will have this additional support in our community... the final question is always what is best for the animal and I believe this additional help at the scale that we are going to build is best 🐱❤️ Who’s ready to help make BoKitty Camp an on-going reality? Don’t let the cat get your tongue! https://dogcampboquete.com/en 760a01f1-0727-4764-bd0f-568322a81ea7.jpg ___________________________________________________________________ The above message was distributed by /News Boquete/, a free subscription-based community service. /News Boquete/'s _*ONLY*_ public email address is news.boquete@gmail.com.
