Amigos del Parque
Update
Did You Know? El Parque Biblioteca de Boquete is supported only by donors ?The Park receives no municipal, civic, or state funding.
BIG PARK NEWS!
A generous donor --who wishes to remain anonymous-- has stepped up to match every dollar, up to $1,000,000, (one million dollars) donated to the Endowment Fund.
One of our main goals is to preserve the Park as a peaceful sanctuary for everyone to enjoy, now and for future generations. That's why the Endowment Fund is crucial to our mission. And with your help, we can make it happen!
Donations of $1,000 and more will be split between the Park's daily upkeep and the Endowment Fund. For example, if you sponsor a bench, half of your $1,000 donation goes to the Endowment, and that amount will be matched, effectively turning your $1,000 gift into $1,500 for the Park!
Not ready to sponsor a bench? No worries! You can direct any donation to the Endowment Fund and still make a big impact. Please donate now.
More Good News:
Amigos del Parque, Friends of the Park, has received notification that the Boquete Community Fund, Inc. (the umbrella organization under which Amigos del Parque operates), has been formally accepted as a 501(C)(3) non-profit charitable organization by the IRS. All past and future donations are tax-exempt to the degree allowable by law. This directly relates to donations by U.S. citizens.

One of the reasons El Parque Biblioteca de Boquete is so popular is the incredible job the workers do to keep it clean and fresh. Luis Santos and Ruben Dario Serracin are part of the daily maintenance team in the Park.
Ruben is from Boquete and is the senior member, having worked there since the beginning, when the land was undeveloped, filled with dirt, rocks and water. Ruben has watched the Park evolve, saying, "It is very pleasant to work here because there is harmony with nature, and harmony in nature is practically like being with God."
Ruben also says if the Park gets more donors, it will become even more beautiful as it continues to fill a much-needed void in Boquete.
Luis Santos, who is from San Felix, has worked alongside Ruben for the last four years, and has seen great changes. "I have been here since we had to fill the lake with stone. The lake is my favorite place in the Park -- I love working to make it beautiful."
The Park is fortunate to have such dedicated, talented people who not only enjoy the natural beauty, but also the interactions with scores of visitors.
The workers often share how the Park began and how it will continue to evolve from its humble beginnings as the donor list grows.
Friends of the Park, Amigos del Parque Gets Bingo Boost
A big thank you to Boquete's ACCB, which brought out record numbers of bingo-playing friends of the Park and raised more than $1,100 in a single night at Casa Vieja.
The large crowd boosted the final tally, as nearly all the night's winners donated their jackpots to the Park.
NEXT BINGO NIGHT: NOVEMBER 19th at CASA VIEJA
MEDIATION GARDEN:
Work is scheduled to begin on the landscape design for the new Meditation Garden. The project is funded by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous. When finished the area near the South entrance will provide a tranquil niche to escape life's chaos.
Coming Up, An Event You Don't Want to Miss!
Picture This:
Boquete's world-class photographer John Maher and members of the Boquete photography club (FotografÃa) will celebrate the Park in January 2025 with an exhibition of stellar photos from the Park.
More information will be provided as it becomes available, but you won't want to miss it.
TO ALL OUR DONORS
Thank you for your generous gifts, which have inspired others to also give to this phenomenal park in our midst. Many of you know that the Park lives on donations from people like you. The Park receives little in the way of municipal, provincial, or national funding, so future expansion will only happen when donors contribute the necessary funds. Everything from feeding the ducks to creation of a meditation garden come as the result of donor support.
