Computer Report for Boquete

Dear Boquete Community:

 

I am writing this note to all the people who have used my computer services this year and those who may not yet know me and the services I have to offer.  It has been my pleasure to help you with all your computer needs over the last year.  I enjoy serving you and appreciate your support.

 

Based upon all my work from January of 2011 to the present, here are the most common issues I have encountered and resolved:

 

Common Problems:

 

·         Virus Infections with the common source being internet downloads.

·         Network failures in the home or on the internet with the most common sources related to routers, switches, AP(Access Point) and ISP(Internet Service Provider) problems.

·         Electrical Power problems with voltage fluctuation, lightning storms, grid blackouts and computer power supplies.

·         Hard Drive failures due to bumps (shocks), factory defects, electrical issues, viruses, defective heads and other causes.

 

Common Improvements customers wanted:

 

·         Upgrade or replace old computers.

·         Upgrade WI-FI networks to improve use of Tablets and E-readers.

·         Setup computer for U.S. TV.

·         Setup Internet on TV.

·         Setup Backup Drives and Backup System to avoid costly loses.

·         Upgrade Antivirus systems.

·         Setup better UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) and surge protection.

·          

Common Complaints:

 

·         Slow Internet Service (slow, fluctuates, not notified when there is a problem).

·         Electrical Service unreliable and fluctuates too much.

·         Computer is too slow (software problems, old and defective hardware).

·         Email Problems (spyware, spams, email client corrupted, upgrades and changes in service without notification).

·         Computer not fulfilling expectations.

 

Common User Caused Problems:

 

·         Loose connections with power cords, network equipment and the computer.

·         Downloading from internet without good safety measures.

·         Lost Passwords (email, iTunes, etc.)

·         Using computer during thunderstorms and lightning strikes.

·         Dropping laptops.

·         Spilling liquids on keyboards especially on Laptops.

 

Things are always changing in the computer world.  Windows 8 is in process.  I have beta previewed it and it is very nice.  It is more focused on Tables and portable devices.  It boots quickly (8 seconds) and the user interface is improved (user friendly).  It is not ready for the market yet and when it is, it will be another change that shouldn’t be too difficult.

 

If you have any computer problems whatsoever, don’t hesitate to call me.  I can tackle and solve most if not all of them.  I can work on Desktops, Laptops, MACs, PCs, Linux, Networking for homes or businesses, data recovery from damaged hard drives (free estimate), and computer upgrades.  I can usually solve most of your computer problems and will honestly let you know if I can’t.  My fees are fair and reasonable.
