After almost three years living in Boquete, I am finally beginning to sort out the parades. While the November 28 parade is the big one, the November 3-4 parades feature the local schools and institutions.
If you think the annual parades are just a nuscience to interfere with your busy and very self-important life, you are missing one of the best things that Panama has to offer - and they happen right in our own town. These parades are a window into the soul of the Panamanian culture and the beauty, care and grace that they exhibit is quite extraordinary. They are also a generational melting pot, where the youngest children participate and learn the culture that will carry them into adulthood.
Once again it is my pleasure to offer a photographic tribute to the wonderful people of Panama.
