Zen Meditation on Thursday

Reply To: David Samuel <david@entrepreneurmonk.com>

I am pleased to announce that the BCP has agreed to allow us to use the space for our meditation and discussion.

We have booked the space for the following times:

Thursday Nov 3  4:00
Next week;
Monday    7:30 evening
Tuesday   4:00
Wednesday  7:30 evening
Thursday   4:00

I will be there, and the room will be there for our use, so although it is nice to let me know if you are coming so I know how many chairs to set up, you can just show up without any notice or reservation.

HOWEVER IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU ARE THERE AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE WE START.

DO NOT ENTER OR KNOCK AFTER THE START TIME IF THE DOOR IS CLOSED OUT OF RESPECT TO EVERYONE ELSE.

Anyone who is interested in meditating, as long as your practice is silent and you do not mind sitting still for 45 minutes, is welcome.

Our practice is Zen. I will be giving instruction before we begin and as long as you can sit still and remember to breath for 45 minutes, you can do this practice :-)

If you like to sit on the floor, please bring your own cushion or whatever you like to sit on.

If you prefer to sit on a chair, please bring 2 old books or blocks of anything that are about 1.5 to 2 inches thick, they must be identical.  They will be placed under each of the back legs of the chair so that the seat slopes forward slightly.  The reason will be explained at the sitting.

We sit still for 20 minutes, then 5 minutes of a breathing exercise, then another 20 minutes of silent sitting.  Don't worry, it is much easier than you think, and there is only one way to find out if you can do it or not...   You never have to come back if you don't want to, so give it a try.

After the meditation, and a little before, I will be available for questions and discussion of the practice or anything else you have an interest in.

There is no charge, but there is a cost for the room, so anything you can contribute is appreciated.

Any questions, just ask.

I look forward to creating a place where people who simply want to practice together can meet.
