[News Boquete] Fwd: Irene, the book lady at the Tuesday Market could use some help.

Irene Haines, is an expat volunteer who has run the book-selling concession at the Tuesday Morning Market at the BCP Center for many years, with all of the proceeds going to charity.   Irene could use  some help in getting the books out of the storage area, and setting up in the morning.  Then, at the end of the market, the books need to be packed up again, and taken to the  storage area.   Because of the two short periods of work, she has not been able to find and hire dependable people  to assist her.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for a retiree who is able to lift boxes of books and would like to help the community.  She needs help for about 1.5 hours starting at  7:45 am to get the books out of storage and move them with a two-wheel dolly to the terrace.  As the market winds down, help is needed again at about 11:15, when the books need to be boxed back up and moved back to a storage area.

Can we find a volunteer or two to and help out with this simple, important weekly task?  Irene could either use two volunteers, one each for set-up and the other for the closing, or one person could do both

The community stepped up to help keep Irene and her books  at the Market, but she has been moved from the theater foyer to the back terrace.  Now it takes a bit more effort to get set up, so who wants to help?

You can either go to the market and talk to Irene, or e-mail her at:  ihaines@hotmail.co.uk
