[Noticias] Palmira Holiday Party at Jungla a BIG SUCCESS!

Jungla's first (unofficial) event - A Big Success!

On Saturday Jan 8, 2011 the Ng o:be Bugle of Palmira enjoyed their annual Christmas and Day of the Kings party at the (soon to open) Jungla Wildlife Rescue and Rehab facility in Palmira.

Approximately 300 people were in attendance as the Representante de Palmira, Nelson Moreno and his wonderful staff and volunteers treated the children to a great time filled with games, presents and refreshments.  The children competed in games and races to win bicycles and skateboards, and many a piƱata made the ultimate sacrifice.  Clothing was given away en masse and many babies were fitted for (apparently) their first pair of shoes.

Jungla donated the venue and the cakes and opened the facility for a sneak peak at the current group of animals which includes two monkeys, a Toucan and several parrots as well as many smaller birds, goats and goat kids, chickens and Piasana's .

Lane Suarez and Tia Belle the Clown (aka Mona Portelance) provided face painting and entertainment with the help of their faithful assistant Robert (Portelance).  Mona also gave eight spots to the Santa Lucia Kid's Camp to the children and Joe Potrebenko and Betsy Waddington (visiting friends of Jungla) sponsored two more.  Jungla will provide the transportation.

Mark Heyer provided photography services and donated many beautiful 8-1/2 by 11, laminated prints of the participants which are on display and ready to be picked up by the participants at Jungla now.  Mark's amazing photos can be viewed at https://picasaweb.google.com/markopanama/PalmiraJan82011#

Jungla will opening soon and will be available for tours and private parties, including a great bar/restaurant/cafe, two new outdoor decks and even a special kid's birthday party room and petting zoo.
